The Story

Compiled here for the first time is Should's 1998 debut Feed Like Fishes plus 10 period bonus tracks, on vinyl for the first time ever. Already a Numero fan favorite, this album hits one of our sweet spots quietly occupying that hallowed middle ground between shoegaze, slowcore, and post-rock:  4 sides of minimal pop songs that favor restraint over release, atmosphere over gesture.

The music is unhurried and deliberately unresolved, built from soft distortion, gliding guitars, and melodies that emerge slowly, if at all.  Feed Like Fishes sounds like motion without destination—private, nocturnal, and slightly dislocated. At nearly double the length from the CD-only debut, it captures a band working instinctively, unconcerned with polish or momentum. More music for a softly lit, late night small circle.
